Free Traffic: TrafficSwarm and Blogging

Another installment in my “free traffic” series, I’m now going to highlight one of my favorites, TrafficSwarm.

TS is a free traffic exchange program. You surf member’s sites and in return an ad for your site is shown to other members. People are encouraged to click on sites that actually interest them because they must wait something like 20 seconds before they can move on to the next page to earn more credits. Because of this, the traffic is totally targeted. If you manage to grab their attention fairly quickly then you may have just snagged you a new reader/subscriber/customer. TS is actually one of the best, if not the best, traffic exchange out there. They’ve got awesome anti-cheating algorithms and even live people monitoring surfing behavior. You are guaranteed that if someone is surfing the network, they are a real person, so no one will waste you hard earned time by gobbling up your credits.

Blogger specific suggestions:
Now, although this works well for certain websites, there are a few things you’ve got to think about when it comes to blogs. The first is that your content will change on a regular basis. Although you do want to advertise your main page with a general ad, you all want to make ads for specific high-traffic posts/pages. The reason is simple, I’ll give you an example:

My genreal homepage ad:
Nathaniel’s Art Gallery Fantasy & Scifi
A collection of my art. I have always believed the nature of inspiration to be infectious. Come, be inspired.

Now, the problem is that this doesn’t cover all my site has to offer, just a small chunk of it. So I also run ads for specif post:
Beware of the Flu Vaccine Scam *
There has been a long, on-going scam dealing with the flu vaccine. Don’t become a victim, you deserve to know the truth
The ADD/ADHD Excuse *
ADD/ADHD are real, but too many are using it as an excuse for bad teaching/parenting/behavior. Here’s what I think. ADD Tips.

The reason I’ve done this is simple, these two topics (flu vaccines and ADD/ADHD) are fairly universal. A great deal of people will want to read them. Do you know anyone who’s ever gotten the flu? Do you know anyone who’s got ADD or ADHD? I advertise these specific articles because they offer up content to the TS surfers that they might be interested in but would otherwise not know existed if they simply saw my main ad.

With this strategy, I spend a couple of minuets when I’m bored surfing my TS homepage and I get several hits to my site. You can’t get much easier than that. Also, TS has no shortage of people trying to get you to sign up for other traffic building programs, some of them are actually quite good. If you find yourself bored and surfing the net often, you might as well get some traffic to your website while you’re at it. If that interests you at all, go check TrafficSwarm out, it’s at least worth a peek.

Type to you later,
~Nathaniel

I use TrafficSwarm to send traffic to lead capture pages tied to an autoresponder. I find this very effective for obtaining good quality leads month after month. I highly recommend trafficswarm to anyone needing traffic to their site. The key to successful use is consistent use.
